Richmond Olympics Logo

RICHMOND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 2010 Olympics Celebration Logo

This logo was designed for the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the rest of the city to show their support for and association with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.

Because the Vancouver International Airport is in Richmond, the games literally began here, which is why the view shown is the North Shore mountains that are visible from the airport.

I'm a fan of the bold colours which allude to the famous (and trademarked) Olympic rings, and also how it reflects typical airport signage and iconography.

At one time it was going to be all over mugs, hats, mousepads and t-shirts, but negotiations fell through and it ended up only getting used by a group of kids who found this through a Google search and recreated it on the wall of a community centre. C'est la vie.
