GDMA Degree Show
The grads from my work are strutting their stuff tonight at the GDMA Degree Show 2008. If you'd like to see their work (and some expertly setup computers, displays and projectors, if I do say so myself...), come on down to the Roundhouse sometime in the next 3 weeks. For more information on the rest of the events, including the Graphex 08 exhibition, a night with Stefan Sagmeister, and a screening of my favourite font movie, Helvetica, head over to the Kwantlen Centre for Design and Communications page (and check out that beautiful logo while you're there...)

It's All in How You Look at Things
The importance of looking at your product from every angle has never been more true that with this unfortunate logo, which is a shoe-in for the infamous logo awards (Not quite safe for work, but really they're all just company logos).
Read more about it and the company's surprisingly calm response here.

Talking Goat
There's no better way to celebrate Earth Day than by viewing this glorious creature: a talking goat. Ever since seeing this I can't hear the word "what" without giggling a little.
Note: you can turn it off after the 1 minute mark, unless you like shaky filmmaking and compelling observations of goat balls.

Pantone Universe Eyewear
It was such a sunny weekend I just kept thinking how much fun it would be to have some of these Pantone Glasses. You get to spec 4 of your favourite colours of arms, and they just pop off and switch depending on the mood or outfit you're in. They've got both sunglasses and prescription ones, and they come in some nice packaging to boot. I like Glossy Blazing Yellow, Matt-Fiery Red, Crystal Deep Brown, and of course, Matt-Black Ink.

Starbucks, Back to the Future
This is news to me: Starbucks is going back to their original logo, in brown no less! Brand New has the rundown, but personally, I can't see them using this forever. It's just not as nice...

Lindy Hop Showdown
For the last 7 minutes I have not been able to take my eyes off the screen. Trust me, you'll watch for 30 seconds but stay for the other 6 and a half. Where are these underground Lindy Hop clubs and how can I sneak into one? This is seriously amazing.

Haiti Weather Report
It's rainy days like these that make this clip all the more appreciated. According to my friend Danika, it "seriously gets funnier each time you watch it".

Actual Motorcycle Monkey
My apologies to everyone who got Rick Rolled yesterday and still can't get the song out of their head. Here is the real motorcycle monkey video. I love how he's wearing jeans and a sleeveless t-shirt, too.

Motorcycle Monkey
While I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this monkey, a video of this other monkey is one of the most amazing things I have seen. He even seems to wait for the traffic before speeding off! For some behind-the-scenes info on this crazy phenomenon, check out the Wikipedia article or the homepage.
